My Story
I always had a passion for helping others, and purposely pursued academic programs that provided me with the rigorous training needed to become an effective therapist. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The Pennsylvania State University, a master’s degree in Counseling and Guidance from New York University, and a doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Seton Hall University. I completed my Pre-Doctoral Internship at the New Jersey Veterans Affairs Hospital (NJVA), and Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the Brooklyn Campus of the Veterans Affairs New York Harbor Healthcare System. Currently, I have been working at the NJVA for 12 years as a Lead Psychologist, providing individual & group psychotherapy, as well as psychological testing services to Veterans and their families. Furthermore, I enjoy being faculty on the NJVA psychology internship and post-doctoral training committees, where I provide clinical supervision to trainees as well as facilitate monthly diversity and supervision seminars.

I formed Restored Hope Psychological Services, LLC in 2019 with the intentions of expanding my helping skills to individuals within the community. This was one of the best decisions I ever made, as it has been a great privilege to guide people as they embark on their healing journey.

I generally work from a multicultural lens and use evidence-based styles that consist of an interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT) approach infused with cognitive behavioral techniques (CBT).

IPT involves exploring past life experiences and how it impacts your current level of distress. The goal is to improve your personal self and your social relationships/functioning.
CBT involves identifying unhelpful thoughts and behaviors with the goal of improving your emotional state. In addition, healthy coping strategies are explored and developed.
